TMTH

(for those of you that didn't watch American Idol this last year, TMTH is something that is a frequent in our home now, meaning "too much to handle".  and now back to my post)

I took on the insane task of doing 2 cakes last Saturday.  I have done 2 in one weekend, but never 2 in the same day.  To say the least... it was crazy.  I literally was freaking out!  But they both turned out so beautiful!

The first one I delivered was for Ashley Gonter.  It was actually a replica of the cake that I had for my wedding, only in different colors.  I thought it was pretty cool to see my cake again, and to have actually made it myself!

The second one I delivered was for Michelle Sullivan.  I loved this one because it was so unique and elegant.  I loved the idea of doing half cake and half cupcakes.  The colors on this one were so simple and pretty.  I love the monogram and just the simpleness of it all.

Chocolatey Goodness

The thing I loved most about this cake is that is smelt so good!  As I was taking it to the reception site I could smell the chocolate in the frosting and just wanted to smash my face into it.  Lucky for them and me, I contained myself.  I love how the whole cake is brown and the orange flowers look so gorgeous.  Congrats Brandalee!

same but different

Yes, another cupcake tower.  They seem to be really popular right now, which I am totally okay with because I love doing them.  This one was for Lauren Benson.  I really loved the vertical lines created by the buttercream... I think it look very clean and pretty.  I also like the alternating cupcakes with the chocolate and white and I love the jewel on top of them.  Another cute cake!  I've got a birthday cake on Monday that I am really excited to do too...

Last Minute Cake

Last Thursday I got a call from my dentist's office secretary who asked me to do a cake for her daughter's birthday on Friday.  She gave me a theme of vintage/feminine, and left the rest up to me.  I was so happy I got to do this because I had nothing better to do and I love when people let me be creative with their cakes.  I thought it turned out way cute.  Hopefully her daughter did too!

2 cUtE cAkEs

Friday, the 27th, I did a wedding cake for Loni and Terrance Aldridge.  It turned out so cute and fun!  I loved the color scheme and the monogram they used.  My mom catered their wedding too so after I delivered the cake I stayed and helped with the reception.  It was a long day!

Saturday, the 28th, I did Blakeley and Andrew... I'm not sure of their last name, but they are so awesome!  They also had a really fun, different cake.  To be honest, I was a little nervous about the crown they put on top.  I thought it was going to be some super shiny crown with diamonds all over it and stuff.  But when we got it on it actually fit the "jester" theme perfect!

I thought both of the cakes turned out so good.  It was a lot of work to have 2 cakes this week, but so worth it!

cupcake creation

On Saturday the 14th Cassidy Jorgensen and Brady Miller were married and I got the honors of doing their cake.  I was so excited when Cassidy asked if I would do a cupcake tower!  It is something I have never done but I think is so cute and modern.  It turned out looking so awesome.  I loved it!

CAKE BLOGGING

I've had my cakes posted under my pictures on myspace, but I kind of hate that now.  It's sort of nice to have pictures of my cakes somewhere though so that when people ask to see them I can direct them somewhere.  So... I've decided to start a cake blog.  On this first post I've just posted the cakes I've done in the past, but now as I do them I will just add more!  Hopefully it'll be a good way for people to see my work.
